Workouts for Mom was created because...
Two years ago, my mom opened a package that changed her life.
Inside was a shirt she had ordered by mail — and a spider. Within hours of being bitten, she was in the hospital battling a severe infection.
In the weeks that followed, she suffered two unexplained heart attacks, despite living a healthy, farm-fresh lifestyle and showing no red flags in her bloodwork. The timing of it all — right around her menstrual cycle and as she entered menopause — raised questions no one could answer.
Specialist after specialist had no clear diagnosis. Instead, they prescribed more medications. And while medication can help, it was never meant to be the end goal. As my mom moved through menopause and adjusted to her new reality, she began to lose strength in her body. She wanted to move again — but in a way that didn’t exhaust her or put strain on her joints.
She started simple: walking outdoors, or on a treadmill when the weather didn’t cooperate. I started recording gentle workouts for her, just short clips to guide her through movement at her own pace. To save space on our phones, I uploaded them to TikTok.
There are countless women navigating recovery, menopause, chronic illness, or simply aging, who want to feel strong again — but without the pressure, pain, or intimidation that often comes with mainstream fitness culture.
That’s why Workouts for Mom was born.
This isn’t just about my mom anymore — it’s about you, too.
